
With thirty-seven years of diversified commercial real estate experience, Mike Howard continues to provide the highest level of service and consultative advice to clients throughout the western United States. From the outset of his career with Grubb & Ellis Company in Southern California, where he was recognized as Company Wide Rookie of the Year in 1973, to the present, where Mike finds himself a member of the most successful commercial investment team in Utah history, his thoroughness, integrity, and commitment to client objectives are renowned.
Mike’s performance as a Top Producer with Grubb & Ellis for nearly twenty-three years has extended to continued success with Commerce Real Estate Solutions. At the outset of his commercial career, Mike specialized in industrial and “business park” properties within the Southern California sub-market of the San Fernando Valley. In this early endeavor, Mike was involved in the significant growth of these market segments, working with such notables as Trammell Crow, Lincoln Properties, Cabot, Cabot, and Forbes, The Hewson Company and others. He assembled land, supervised acquisition, consulted on development, and handled sales and leasing of nearly 14 million square feet of space and over 1,000 acres of land.
During his long career, Mike has represented such well-known, major corporations as Time Warner, Inc., Eaton Corporation, MCA-Universal, Paine-Webber, Inc., Teledyne, Inc., Columbia Pictures, Inc., Lockheed-Martin Company, Borden Foods, ARA Services, Inc., PIP Printing, Inc., Baskin-Robbins, Inc., Wickes Companies, Inc., Walt Disney Pictures, Inc., and E.I. DuPont De Nemours & Co. with corporate real estate asset reallocation.
During the decade of the 1990’s Mike employed his vast experience to the disposition and acquisition of institutional and corporate assets. Serving investor and corporate client equally well, he has met the needs of such organizations as; Soloman Bros., GE Capital Credit, Sanwa Bank of California, J.E. Robert Companies, Hanford/Healy Companies, Colony Investment Partners, Volkswagen of America, Heitman Realty Advisors, Vestar Development Co, Ameritech, Voit Companies, Inc., and the United States Government. More recently, he has served the requirements of such notable entities as Bank One Corporation, Intermountain Healthcare, Mueller Industries, Wells Fargo Bank, The Boyer Company, Century Park Partners, Johansen Thackeray, CIGNA Investment Group, Legacy Partners, University of Phoenix, UNIVEST, and the Social Security Administration, General Services Administration of the United States Federal Government.
Since joining Commerce in 1996 Mike has handled assignments throughout the western states with transaction values in excess of $200 million.
