Company Experience

As Senior Director of retail brokerage for Cushman & Wakefield, Commerce Real Estate Solutions of Washington, Susie brings more than 30 years of retail experience to her clients. Having served in executive positions with national and regional retailers, Susie has first hand knowledge of the way retail tenants approach the market. Her retailing background includes the management of real estate leasing and sales, site acquisition and disposition, operations, financial and strategic planning, merchandising, marketing and advertising departments.

As a landlord representative, Susie is known for developing merchandising plans and assisting with site plans for new developments as well as re-merchandising existing retail properties to maximize the value of the asset. Well versed on current lease rates, market trends, financing requirements, cap rates and other investment qualifiers, Susie analyzes each potential lease or sale to project the impact each transaction will have on the property’s overall value.

As a tenant representative, Susie is accomplished at analyzing market voids and opportunities for expansion. Experienced with refining an established retailers’ market presence (e.g. The North Face, Toys R Us, American Eagle Outfitters), Susie also has a proven track record with new concept rollouts, (e.g. Chipotle Mexican Grill, Jimmy John’s, Krispy Kreme, Peet’s Coffee and Tea), Susie’s broad market awareness and years in the business provide her with the experience and knowledge necessary to negotiate the types of deal terms and conditions required in this economic climate.

Susie is a member of C&W’s International Executive Retail Services Committee, the governing and strategic planning arm of retail brokerage for Cushman & Wakefield, Inc., ICSC, WSCAR, CBA and PREI (Pacific Real Estate Institute). Susie is also on the board of Central Puget Sound Real Estate Research (CPSRER) and is a member of the Leadership Committee for Commerce Real Estate Solutions.

Prior to joining Cushman & Wakefield, Susie was a Vice President with CB Richard Ellis in Seattle.
