
Tom Kirk was raised in Northern California but has lived most of his life in Utah along the Wasatch Front. Tom began his career in commercial real estate when he began working for a regional development company. After eleven years as director of acquisitions and dispositions, Tom has accumulated a broad base of experience brokering on both sides of the table. Tom graduated from the University of Utah with a degree in Economics. This background has provided him with an insight that is not present in most brokers.
Active in the commercial real estate industry since 1988, Tom is well versed in traditional brokerage services, real estate studies and analyses, as well as project budgeting, scheduling and accounting. Tom’s expertise touches each stage of the investment arena form land acquisition through value enhancement, from the time it is envisioned, through development, to the time it is completed and marketed for sale.
Since coming over to Commerce Real Estate Solutions, he has used his knowledge to provide acquisition and disposition services for the portfolios of investors and developers. Tom’s responsibilities often include marketing, analysis of perspective investment opportunities, coordination of commercial development projects and consultation services.
Since 1999, Tom has consulted for major energy and utility companies, including PacifiCorp, MidAmerican Holding Company, Scottish Power and SunPower Corporation. His knowledge and insight has supported the energy needs of our nation. Tom’s many power and utility acquisition and disposition dealings have added to his expertise as a real estate agent and has expanded his many talents as a well-rounded individual.
He also keeps Commerce Real Estate Solutions on the cutting edge by sitting on their technology committee, specializing in hardware and software applications for the real estate professional, including GIS applications. Tom also has served on the Board of Directors and various committees for the Utah CCIM Chapter since 1997 and served as President from 2002 to 2003.
Tom resides in Kaysville, Utah, is the proud parent of six children, is an eagle scout, and is involved in various State foster and adoption programs.
