Company Experience

Mariko joined the Commerce Real Estate Solutions’ highly regarded Retail team in 2006. Since that time she has represented a number of prominent retail tenants in the market as well as prominent retail landlords and developers. Her in-depth knowledge of the Utah retail real estate market is bolstered by her many years of direct retail experience prior to joining Commerce Real Estate Solutions where she worked as an assistant buyer for the online retailer Overstock.com as well as held many positions in the traditional retail environment including store management for the national action sports retailer Zumiez. Today Mariko represents notable tenants as well as a vast amount of retail shopping centers as a leasing specialist.

Mariko graduated from Utah State University with a Bachelors degree in Apparel and Textiles and a Marketing Minor. While attending school she spent time in New York City as a fashion design intern for Anne Klein.

Mariko’s unique combination of real estate and retail sales and management experience helps her provide a superior level of service and support to her clients. She not only understands the real estate market in Utah but she also understands the business of retail. Whether it is assisting Tenants that are expanding their presence in the Utah market or implementing a methodical and results oriented marketing plan for leasing retail properties Mariko recognizes that real estate is just one, albeit a critical one, element of a successful retail business. That knowledge coupled with her strong belief in striving to understand her clients’ needs allow her the ability to successfully assist her clients with their commercial real estate needs.
