As an associate broker in Commerce Real Estate Solutions' Industrial Division, Farmer specializes in all facets of industrial real estate, including sales, leasing, sale-leasebacks, investments, and land. Prior to joining the firm in 1989, Farmer served as an industrial agent with Grubb & Ellis Commercial Brokerage, Shott Realty Company, Tracy Realty, and was a founding partner in the brokerage firm Commerce Properties.

Farmer's creative approach to problem-solving and diligence in keeping abreast of market trends and information has led to long-term representation of owners, such as Union Pacific Railroad, Hillman Properties, Arka Properties, and Prudential Realty. National tenants including Xerox, Phillip Morris, Kodak, and Delta Airlines have also benefited from Farmer's skills in meeting their real estate goals.

Farmer attended the University of Kansas, where he focused on studies in mathematics and English. He is a Vietnam Veteran and served a three-year stint on active duty as an infantry officer with the United States Marine Corps. He recently retired from the Marine Corps Reserve, with 26 years of total service.

Involvement in local and national real estate organizations enable Farmer to remain at the forefront of industry trends. He is a lifetime member of the Salt Lake Board of Realtors Million Dollar Club Commercial Salesperson of the Year in 1997 for the Salt Lake Board of Realtors and has been active on the board's professional standards and arbitration committees and commercial and industrial committees. He is also a member of the Utah Association of Realtors, National Association of Realtors and has served on the industrial council.
