Las Vegas, Nev., Sept. 22, 2010 – Dana Berggren, LEED AP, CCIM, has been named as one of just 15 recipients of the 2010 Developing Leaders Award, presented by NAIOP, the Commercial Real Estate Development Association.
Berggren recently joined Commerce Real Estate Solutions, a member of the Cushman & Wakefield Alliance, as a director specializing in the office and industrial sectors. Prior to this position, Berggren served as vice president with Prudential/IPG Commercial Real Estate, which Commerce acquired earlier this month. In 2009, Berggren conducted 54 lease transactions and four sales transactions, despite the challenges of the economic downturn. She also recently obtained her LEED AP and CCIM designations. She was recognized for her outstanding achievements as the recipient of NAIOP Southern Nevada’s 2010 Office Broker of the Year award.
In addition to her involvement with NAIOP Southern Nevada’s Developing Leaders group, she also serves on the chapter’s Education and Sustainable Development Committees. She was a member of the inaugural class of the chapter’s Developing Leader Institute and shares her knowledge and experiences through mentoring as part of a NAIOP Partnership with UNLV’s Lied School for Real Estate Studies.
This year, the Developing Leaders Award was bestowed upon 15 up-and-coming professionals who have distinguished themselves in their profession and show great promise as future leaders of the commercial real estate industry.
“We are extremely proud of Dana in achieving this national recognition,” said Mike Hillis, managing partner for Commerce Real Estate Solutions. “She has distinguished herself locally as one of the top office brokers and this national award is a real honor.”
NAIOP President Thomas J. Bisacquino spoke of the importance of the Developing Leaders Award, stating, “The Developing Leaders program advances NAIOP’s agenda and enhances our diversity by acknowledging and encouraging the involvement of these accomplished young professionals who will lead our organization and the commercial real estate industry into the future.”
Recipients of NAIOP’s Developing Leaders Award will be celebrated at Development ’10: The Annual Meeting for Commercial Real Estate, where they will benefit from unique networking opportunities and publicity surrounding the award. Development ’10, which takes place October 27-29 in Orlando, features three days of education, interaction and events all tailored to help NAIOP members achieve success. Leading-edge education sessions, distinguished keynote speakers, innovative project tours and the popular CEO Insight Series all provide invaluable experiences designed to keep NAIOP members ahead of the industry curve.
In an effort to engage and encourage up-and-coming young commercial real estate professionals, NAIOP established the Developing Leaders Award in 2006. The honor was designed to engage tomorrow’s leaders and connect them with NAIOP’s increasing education and benefits available to new and developing professionals.
